Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, egg, and a tiny dash of mustard.
  2. Form the mixture into 4 patties.
  3. Heat a pan on the stove and brown the patties for about 3–4 minutes per side. They do not need to cook all the way through yet.
  4. Remove the patties from the pan and set aside.
  5. Remove most of the grease, but keep the browned bits in the pan.
  6. Add sliced onion, butter, and flour. Cook for about 3–4 minutes.
  7. Add beef broth, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Stir everything together.
  8. Let the gravy cook for a couple minutes.
  9. Add the patties back into the pan, cover, and cook for 10–12 minutes.
  10. If the gravy needs to be thicker, remove the patties and add a little more flour or cornstarch. Stir and cook until it becomes a nice gravy.
  11. Serve with mashed potatoes and green beans.
