Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth or chicken broth
- Garlic powder, to taste
- Onion powder, to taste
- Italian seasoning, to taste
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 12 to 14 frozen meatballs
- 8 ounces ring pasta, about half of a 1 pound box
- Parmesan cheese, for serving
Instructions
- Add the butter and tomato paste to a pot.
- Cook over medium-high heat for about 30 seconds, stirring so the tomato paste starts to cook into the butter.
- Pour in the tomato sauce.
- Add the beef broth or chicken broth.
- Season with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- Stir everything together until combined.
- Add the frozen meatballs to the sauce.
- Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer.
- Cover the pot with a lid and cook for about 10 minutes, or until the meatballs are heated through.
- Remove the lid and make sure the sauce is at a gentle simmer.
- Add the ring pasta.
- Stir well so the pasta is coated in the sauce.
- Cook uncovered for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring often so the pasta does not stick to the bottom.
- If the sauce gets too thick while the pasta cooks, add a splash of broth or water.
- Once the pasta is tender, remove from the heat.
- Spoon into bowls.
- Top with Parmesan cheese and serve warm.
