Pineapple Upside Down Dump Cake

Butter, brown sugar, pineapple, and cherries topped with yellow cake mix for the easiest pineapple upside down dessert.

Ingredients

• 2 tablespoons melted butter
• 1/3 cup brown sugar
• 1 cup crushed pineapple or chopped pineapple chunks, with a little juice
• 6 to 9 maraschino cherries
• 1/2 box yellow cake mix
• 4 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
2. Pour 2 tablespoons melted butter into an 8x8 baking dish.
3. Spread the butter evenly over the bottom of the pan.
4. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the butter.
5. Add crushed pineapple or chopped pineapple chunks over the brown sugar.
6. Spread the pineapple evenly.
7. Place maraschino cherries over the pineapple.
8. Pour half of the yellow cake mix evenly over the pineapple and cherries. Do not mix.
9. Drizzle 4 tablespoons melted butter over the cake mix. Do not mix.
10. Bake at 350F for 35 to 45 minutes, or until the top is golden and the edges are caramelized.
11. Let cool for 10 to 15 minutes.
12. Serve straight from the pan, or carefully run a knife around the edges and flip it onto a plate like an upside down cake.
13. Serve warm and enjoy.
